Just like the historical centre town of Sant’Agata Bolognese, also the new school, has an axial layout, as well; the axis N-S is the main functional element and becomes the centre of the school-time life; Its function are:
- Avoid encroaching on current farmers management
- focus the solutions, demanded by citizens, on three specific areas, using the typical language of agrarian landscape.

The new agricultural park becomes the “crossroads” of neighbourhoods life, creating the missing links between the main attractions and characterising the streets as public spaces:
TO CONNECT: the school axis generates two gates: one on the main street, the other near the parking. A great attention has been focused on entrances-exits: an improvement of the main street has been previewed with cycling pats, a sidewalk and a kiss & ride parking; on the side of the parking a new public square has been developed in order to “contain” all “overflowing” children. The main axis makes easier to find the way inside the school; stairs, elevators and all the school areas (teaching areas, gymnasium, conference room and refectory) are immediately evident;
TO ACCOMMODATE: the school axis is a winter garden characterized by the day-light, meant to accommodate children, in which the laminated timber of structures lives together with fruit trees disposed in lines, creating a close relationship between building and natural environment along a botanic educational path.

The school has being designed also looking for a future easy enlargement of the school, inserting into the greenhouse another building, also during teaching period.
